Speaker Bio
Jessica Leving Siegel (she/her) is an award-winning writer and communications specialist with experience spanning the newspaper and magazine industry, the nonprofit sector, and the disability community.

Before launching Sing Creative Group, she got her start as a journalist, writing for publications such as USA Today, The Boston Globe, The Jerusalem Post and more. When she realized she wanted to use her storytelling skills to champion the causes she cared most about, she moved into the nonprofit world, and spent 10 years working on internal comms teams for organizations such as The Jewish United Fund, Spertus Institute, The American Lung Association, and Walder Group. Now, she uses her expertise to help other changemakers hone their messaging and amplify their impact. Recent client PR wins have included hits in Parade, HuffPost, USA Today, The New York Times, The Chicago Tribune, ABC7 News, and more.

She is also the author of three children's books, host of The Special Siblings Podcast, and the founder of her own nonprofit organization, The Center for Siblings of People with Disabilities.

Jessica earned her MBA from The Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, and holds a BS in Journalism from Boston University, in addition to several smaller certifications and training programs.

As a sought-after speaker, Jessica covers a range of topics, including:

- Storytelling for Social Impact: How nonprofits and fundraisers can craft compelling narratives that drive action and engagement.

- Supporting the "Other" Sibling: How parents, professionals and caregivers can support siblings of kids with disabilities.
Topic 1
Storytelling That Moves: Turning Numbers Into Narratives
Topic 1 Description
This transformative session is designed for nonprofit leaders and fundraisers looking to create deeper emotional connections with their audiences in order to strengthen relationships and drive donations. Instead of relying on dry statistics and lists of achievements, you’ll learn how to harness the power of individual stories to make your cause resonate on a personal level. Using a step-by-step storytelling framework, you'll learn how to start with one compelling narrative, gradually zoom out to connect that story to larger trends and data, and then zoom back in to solidify your message. By the end of this session, you’ll have the tools to turn abstract issues into vivid, unforgettable stories that inspire action and drive donations.

By the end of this session, participants will walk away with a clear understanding of how to craft and deliver stories that not only capture attention but also drive meaningful action. They’ll learn how to identify and spotlight individual narratives that embody their mission, and then skillfully connect those stories to broader data and organizational impact using our step-by-step framework. Participants will also gain practical tools, including a worksheet to help them apply this framework in their own fundraising efforts, ensuring they can create powerful, emotionally resonant stories that inspire stakeholders to support their cause.
