Demystifying Impact Evaluation – Measuring the Good that We do

Nonprofits and nonprofit consultants work hard to create a positive impact in the world. But how do we connect that longer-term impact to our everyday activities? And how can we efficiently measure it in a way that is also meaningful to our funders and other key stakeholders?

In this hands-on workshop, experienced data and evaluation consultant, Monica Kaiser of Kaiser Group Inc. will engage us in activities that help demystify impact evaluation. We will get a better understanding of what impacts are (and are not!), how to measure success and progress towards those impacts, and what factors to consider when planning data collection. You will also gain take-away tools that can be of use whether you want to measure your own impact or be an informed participant in your agencies’ processes.

This event is open to both nonprofit consultants and nonprofit leaders.

Monica Kaiser of Kaiser Group, Inc. is a data and evaluation consultant with more than 25 years of experience working with nonprofits serving low-income children and families. Her evaluation work has been featured at research and practitioner conferences as well as by the Harvard Family Research Project and American Youth Policy Forum. In addition to designing and conducting evaluations, she specializes in training nonprofit staff on best practices for data planning, collection and interpretation. Her goal is to help organizations integrate data into their program improvement and fundraising efforts. After many years in Los Angeles, she recently returned to her hometown of Chicago and is excited to be an ACN member and part of the support network for Chicago nonprofits.
