ACN EMPOWER Groups

ACN EMPOWER Groups are intended to be forums for like or complementary groups of professionals to empower each other with a diversity of thinking, knowledge, shared experience, perspective, support, intentional networking, business development, and inspiration. The groups will be member-driven and self-directed in terms of content, frequency of meetings, duration, number of participants, and general meeting objectives. Participation in EMPOWER Groups is open to all ACN members, including organizational, individual, and associate members.

All EMPOWER Groups will adhere to the Association of Consultants to Nonprofits Statement of Values, including Honesty and Trustworthiness, Commitment to Excellence, Responsiveness of Readiness and Adaptability, and Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

This new membership benefit is launching with three groups. See below for a brief description of the groups. Please reach out the ACN members leading the groups if interested in learning more.

EMPOWER Working Parents Lidia Varesco Racoma
Parents with kids still living at home, balancing work and life, and sharing experiences and perspectives about the unique challenges from peers who are “in the season with you.”

EMPOWER LGBTQ+ Kristin Patton
Provide collective visibility and promote LGTBQ+ consultants and professionals who are members of the association; build relationships with fellow members, leading to revenue-generating referrals, partnerships, and/or collaborations.

EMPOWER Grief & Loss - Looking for a group leader
Supporting consultants who are processing grief and loss while maintaining their business, and working to remove the stigma of grief in the workplace. Participants are encouraged to share strategies, books and resources for managing their professional life after a loss. 

EMPOWER Consultants of Color Gioia Giannotti
Provide collective visibility and support and promote Black, Latinx, Indigeneous, and Asian consultants and professionals who are members of the association; build relationships with fellow members; and share successes and challenges that consultants of color face. 

EMPOWER Early Stage Consultants - Jerome Holston and Kate Viana
Provide guidance and support for new consultants from their peers, learn strategies to build a successful consulting business, and build relationships with fellow members across the association.

EMPOWER Seasoned Professionals - Association Manager
Seasoned consultants with at least 15 consecutive years of direct consulting experience will serve as a sounding board for one another and discuss the challenges and opportunities of building/sustaining a business in the long term.

Want to start a new EMPOWER Group?

The Membership Engagement Committee welcomes requests to create new groups by submitting this form. Please note that by submitting this form for review, you acknowledge your interest and commitment to launch, lead, and maintain the new group you are proposing. The committee will assist newly approved groups with their launches and ongoing success.
